Vital - The Outdoor Cooler Backpack

{Industrial Design + Sustainability} I spent over two years working with a GRS-certified cooler factory overseas to develop this high-performing cooler backpack to compete in the space outdoor titans such as Yeti and RTIC currently occupy. I saw the opportunity to revisit the design language, and to try to engineer the piece to sit at a lower price point, since not everyone can afford a $500 cooler. I made over 30 prototypes before landing on the product below. Which has been tested and proven to be very durable, comfortable and functional, and it keeps your perishables frozen for 24 hours! One unique aspect of this product are the custom ergonomic (silicon molded, with metal interior frame) zippers I designed which were based on parachute ripcords. They were necessary because the zipper is completely waterproof, and needs about 4-6 pounds of force to open and close.
