Bungie Foundation - iPad Case for Children’s Hospitals
{Industrial Design + Medical} One of the many functions of the Bungie Foundation is offering iPad’s to patients at Children’s Hospitals with personally curated games, shows and movies to ease the mind in times of distress. I was reached out to with a request to design a custom case for their iPads that would have some features not readily available on the marketplace - first off, it would be anti-microbial and medical-grade. It would have to lock the power cord in place, and be tamper proof and child-proof. It would have to be rugged, durable and water-resistant like an Otterbox, but also soft and easy to grab, comfortable to hold and have no hard edges, like many children’s cases. The final product is a two-piece PET shell, and a silicone outer layer with a PC hard screen protector. It was also designed in accordance with Apple’s Developer Network Accessory Guidelines.

The initial concept was sketched for me by a teammate at Bungie, from there we iterated dozens of times and tested many 3d printed prototypes until all desired features were present. the majority of the 3d design for tooling was done in AutoDesk Inventor and renderings in Fusion 360.
